Wow… Bat Country… This August we were lucky enough to play at a secret little festival called Bat Country, the feisty was put on by our good friends Emerging Species and featured a whole host of live music acts, comedy, poetry, sushi etc. It was one of those magical weekends and we hope the festy will continue next year. It was a real pleasure to play alongside great UKHH acts such as Dead Players and Ed Scissortongue as well the man Eric Electric who stepped to the decks for our set. Massive love to all the faces we caught up with and of course to Emerging Species for putting on a great event.
Next week we’ll be performing at Bussey Building for The Big Noise Festival, a live music event put on to raise money for The Big Issue Foundation, a worthy cause indeed. There’s a massive range of acts performing throughout the day and definitely something to suit all kinds of taste. Tickets are available here.
In 2012 Elian Gray produced 3 Mile Radius, an EP for spoken word artist and long term DDF friend Talia Randall. While the EP dropped in 2012 a video for one of the tracks, Common Room, was released this year and features work from 13 animators all using different styles and techniques, the video has had a tonne of shares and support and as a result has gone viral – many thanks to all those who shared! 3 Mile Radius is available for purchase from Emerging Species.
This month see’s Lucid Mover release his new LP Theatre Of The Absurd, a classic hip hop sounding project produced by WytFang. Daggs has numerous features on the LP and Jazza also makes an appearance, it’s definitely one for the old school hip hop heads out there. Theatre Of The Absurd is available for a name-your-price download from Lucid Mover’s bandcamp page.
The man Sofa King of the Think Zebra crew has dropped a new release An Audience With The King, which features Daggs on one side and our boy Lucid Mover on the other. Uncle Jazza has been spending lots of time making videos for his new project (more on this later) and decided to put together this stills video to his O:ZN track ‘Beyond The Brink‘. Featuring the artwork of Vitaly S Alexius who’s images seem to perfectly fit the imagery Jazza brought to the track. Enjoy.
Here’s a little parody we did of Danny Brown’s ‘Blunt After Blunt’. DDF do not condone the use of hard drugs, ever.
